Would You Ever Know?

“Be kind to others because you never know what they may be going through”

This is a very common saying that we all have heard. Since I was a child, I was always thinking what a person must be feeling like whenever I saw someone; even when I did not have any interaction with them. It is a habit.

For example, if I see a blind person, I can’t help but think how different that person’s life is when compared to mine. Or if I see some top billionaire in a YouTube channel, I think whether he is honestly happy with his life? I don’t know if it is just me but this has been the case for a very long time.

Do we really know what is going on in another person’s life?

I personally think that we would never know everything about anyone’s life, except maybe the parents of a toddler who bluntly says out loud everything they do or feel.

Only I myself know every tiny detail in my life. Not my parents, husband, siblings or friends. Not even a parent could know everything about their kid.

The thing is, it is not possible nor is it practical because:

  1. Not everything can be expressed.
  2. One may not want anyone else to worry about them.
  3. One may choose not to share certain things.
  4. Something that affects one person a lot may not be that big of a deal to another.
  5. Certain things may go unnoticed.

These are a few reasons of many. Don’t get me wrong. I am not saying that this is only about being sad or upset. Just think for a minute. There can be a ex-army soldier who lost both his legs a while ago who is way happier than I am right now (just an example). It is possible.

But, we will never know.

Most people have what they need to lead a good life but that’s not enough for them. That applies to me too. I want more in life to live the way I want and give my loved ones the lives they want. Our needs are fulfilled but our wants are not.

The habit I have of trying to think what it is to be in others’ shoes helps me show love and be kind. It also reminds me to count my blessings, be more positive and not release my stress on another person.

This is also a gentle reminder to be grateful for what you already have!

We need to at least try to understand that we are all going through our own battles. It is easy to compare. But life is not easy for anyone. It needs a lot of hard work. People are sad, depressed, lonely and frustrated than ever.

Even if we don’t know about another person’s life, we can still be their sunshine nevertheless. We just should not be the negative energy in their life. I have written more about it too. Here’s the link if you’re interested,

Before letting out a word, rushing to a judgment or sharing a comment about someone, think for a moment whether it is right, is it fair, and if it necessary.

Let’s share more love, kindness, happy thoughts and more and more positive energy! This world needs it! This world needs you!

Cheers! ❤
