No matter how many times I repeat the date of our wedding anniversary, my husband never remembers it. When someone asks, the first thing is does is look at me.
Recently, I asked him why he keeps forgetting it. I was slightly annoyed and somewhat curious. I am someone who considers birthdays and anniversaries as very special days.
Here is the answer I got…
“It is true that I do not remember the day we got married but I do remember the day we started dating. That is the day that truly matters to me. Marriage was just signing a piece of paper to me. It did not make a difference to our relationship.”
I have to say, I was not expecting that response. It is true. He does remember the day he asked me out and I said yes. It is true that getting married didn’t really change anything in our lives.
We are happily together for four years now. It has been a very interesting and difficult journey, but we always had each other through anything and everything.
We had a long-distance relationship for 4 months, just 2 months since we started dating. I had an ex-boyfriend trying everything to destroy our relationship. We were at a terrible state financially until this year. We still work long hours almost all 7 days of the week. Through all that, we keep moving forward with a lot of love.
I am glad to say that I am blessed with a man who would go to the ends of the Earth for my happiness. I am always grateful for him, and I would do anything for him too.
So, what’s the big deal about him not remembering our wedding anniversary?
